Just after midnight, a 17-year-old boy was fatally shot in Far Rockaway, Queens. And according to the Post, AK-47 shell casings were found at the scene.

According to police, they received a 911 call at 12:33 a.m. and found the boy shot in the head in front of 249 Beach 15th Street. The victim, Xavier Granville, a Far Rockaway resident who lived less than 2 miles away, was pronounced dead at the scene.

According to MyFoxNY, a house party had been "breaking up and the boy was apparently drunk and milling about the property. Some people walked up to the partygoers and fired at the crowd. Police were not sure if the boy was the intended target of the gunman." The Post notes that the two gunmen were wearing ski masks, and investigators think Granville may have been part of a gang.

Update: The Daily News reports that "two masked men, armed with an AK-47 and a .45-caliber pistol, ambushed the teen on a Queens street early Saturday."
