Ack! The same storm that dumped a rare three inches of snow on Las Vegas will be affecting New York tomorrow. As of now it looks like snow will begin to fall early tomorrow morning. The snow is likely to mix with sleet after daybreak and turn to a rain/snow/sleet mix by tomorrow afternoon. The city will be close to the rain/snow line for much of the day, making it difficult to say how much snow will accumulate. AccuWeather says 1-3 inches in the city while the Weather Service goes with 3-5 inches. Either way tomorrow morning's commute is looking sloppy. Areas to the immediate north of the city are likely to see 5-10 inches of snow and a winter storm warning has been issued, while southern New England could have a foot or more snow. Maybe we'll have a white Christmas after all.
