Police are searching for a man accused of grabbing a woman on a Manhattan street and allegedly pulling down her pants in an early morning sexual assault.

The incident occurred around 4:20 a.m. last Friday, September 1st, outside 414 West 51st Street. According to the NYPD, the suspect "grabbed the 27 year-old female victim from behind, covered her mouth with his hand and tried to pull her pants down. The victim fought off the individual and yelled out for help."

The suspect then fled west on West 51st Street.

Police released surveillance images and video of the suspect, who is wanted for attempted rape. He is described as being in his 40s and was last seen wearing a hooded sweater with white lettering on the front, dark colored pants and black sneakers.
