A man died after falling from a luxury apartment building onto a passing car near the Battery Tunnel this morning.

Police say the incident happened on Battery Place just before 11 a.m. Thursday morning. The man was found unconscious and unresponsive in front of 1 West Street. As you can see in the photos, he landed on a car that was driving toward the Battery Tunnel at the time.

The man, whose identity hasn't been released yet, was declared DOA at the scene. Cops add that his injuries were consistent with "falling from an elevated position." The News believes the unidentified man jumped from 1 West Street, which is home of Ocean Luxury Residences. Other people have speculated he may have been a construction worker from the area.
