• Yankees 2, White Sox 1: Ivan Nova struck out seven -- and walked only one -- in 5 2/3 innings of one-run ball as the Yankees took the rubber game of a three-game series in the Second City. The game took three hours and 25 minutes despite its grand total of three runs. Marcus Thames hit his fifth homer of the road trip and Brett Gardner singled in Francisco Cervelli, who had four hits. By winning this series, the Yankees finished their road trip at 3-3 and now have a 10-game homestand to look forward to.
  • Mets 5, Astros 1: R.A. Dickey shackled the Astros -- that comes with a serious asterisk given Houston's ineptitude -- as the Mets took a rubber game of their own. Dickey also had a two-run single in a four-run second to help put the Mets in the driver's seat early.
