A marauding group of teenagers was arrested yesterday in connection to 14 muggings in Manhattan and Queens. The four teens apparently targeted subway riders with iPods, zeroing in on women, who were 12 of the victims. Their MOs included punching a victim in the face and grabbing a purse, harrassment followed by punching nad kicking, and pelting garbage at them. The Post reports that the police found four iPods, three cellphones, and a digital camera, all from victims. The teens ranged in age from 14 to 19, and confessed to the crimes.

After all the news about iPod related thefts, it always surprises Gothamist that we see as many exposed iPods and white earbuds as we do. Have you done anything to keep your iPod protected?
