It appears we have our first Citi Bike collision—fortunately it was not fatal. According to the NYPD, an unidentified cyclist on a Citi Bike was riding south on Macdougal Street yesterday afternoon around 12:20 p.m. when she tried to "beat the light" at West Houston Street. The driver of a 2013 Toyota was heading west on Houston at the time; he says he had stopped for a red light and proceeded when the light turned green. As he accelerated into the intersection, the cyclist pedaled into his path. The collision threw the cyclist up onto the windshield of the vehicle.

An NYPD spokesperson tells us the cyclist was transported to Bellevue with non-life threatening injuries. (This morning, the FDNY told us the 25-year-old is in stable condition.) The DOT did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
