The most unusual thing about this morning's weather map is the lack of activity. The National Weather Service hasn’t issued any weather watches, warnings, advisories or even vague apocalyptic concerns about firenadoes for anywhere near the city. As a result, we are in for a mix of sun and clouds this afternoon and a high around 68 degrees, which is the average high for May 7th. A sea breeze will keep locations right along the coast a bit cooler than that.

Enjoy this afternoon's nice weather while you can because rain is arriving soon. The cold front that passed through the city on Sunday is expected to push northward as a warm front over the next couple of days. There is a good chance of rain or showers tonight and into tomorrow morning. Before the front arrives a cool easterly breeze will keep Thursday's high to 60 degrees. If you want warmth head to Baltimore or Washington, as they will be a good 20 degrees warmer than us.

The warm front probably won't pass through the city until Friday night. That means we are in for another cool, cloudy day with a chance of showers or thunderstorms tomorrow. Saturday, however, is expected to be much warmer, with a high in the mid to upper 70s with a chance of scattered showers. Mother's Day could be just as warm but without that shower nonsense.
