Police say they have arrested the man who allegedly pushed his way into an apartment and raped a woman on Tuesday night.

Shortly after the NYPD released images and a description of the suspect (including his 6'9" height), the police identified him as Bronx resident Jean Rodriguez. Police say he followed the victim, a 20-year-old woman, into her building's elevator on West 163rd Street, before knocking on her door and then forcing his way in.

The victim, who was taken to Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center in stable condition, said she didn't know her attacker.

Rodriguez, 23, was charged with rape, in addition to burglary, menacing, sexual abuse and criminal sexual act.
