Restaurant desserts can sometimes seem like an afterthought, especially if you're like me and would rather dive into a nacho helmet than fork bites of dry devil's food cake in your mouth hole. But there's something about the phrase "alcohol-infused donuts" that would make even the most fervent dessert haters take pause; such was the case at a recent visit to the Midtown outlet of STK, a swanky steakhouse pulling double duty as a secret sweets haven.

The first thing to note about these dough balls is that they deserve their Drunkin Donuts ($18) moniker. There are four different types of alcohol employed in the creation of the dish, starting with the Chambord jelly piped into the center of each yeast-style confection. Next, a sticky and sweet rum glaze that encourages finger-licking after each bite.

Finally, a serving of donuts is served with two dipping sauces, because a boozy raspberry-filled jelly donut coated in sugar syrup isn't quite decadent enough. The first, lime mojito, packs a zesty citrus punch with a bold liquor flavor to offset some of the sweetness. The chocolate Frangelico sauce riffs on a certain hazelnut spread if that spread could, in fact, get you drunk.

STK is located at 1114 Avenue of the Americas and 26 Little W 12th Street
