This weekend, a 250-foot barge featuring some beloved hallmarks of NYC skating will be open to skateboarders in Brooklyn Bridge Park! It's the Nike SB Skate Safari Barge, which debuted last night in Manhattan, right by the Intrepid, with professional skaters like Paul Rodriguez and Stefan Janoski. Photographer Katie Sokoler got these amazing shots from the twilight skate session.

Before the Nike SB Skate SafarI Barge headed to Pier 88, it had to be built—and some skaters tested it out while it was traveling up the Hudson:

The barge has elements of classic NYC spots, like the Brooklyn Banks, OG Seaport benches, and Pyramid Ledges. You can skate today and tomorrow (9 a.m.-7 p.m.) at Brooklyn Bridge (Pier 5) by registering at SkateSafariNYC.com. After this weekend, Nike tells us parts of the skate barge will be donated to a skate park in the Rockaways.
