The quest for post-election catharsis continued yesterday evening with a kid-oriented Stand For Love "rally" in Brooklyn Bridge Park. About a hundred children (and their adult escorts) from DUMBO, Brooklyn Heights, and Vinegar Hill gathered on the lawn near Jane's Carousel for the event, which was organized by a trio of local parents.

The event was specifically "non-political": The kids did crafts and made signs with materials donated by a Dumbo art studio, while eating apples and piles of pizza and sipping Jacques Torres hot chocolate. They tore around like crazy waving glow-sticks, expressing their love for their community and city in an elemental way.
