Feed The Munchies With These 10 Stoner-Friendly 4/20 Specials In NYC
Happy Holidaze, everyone. If you're celebrating today's holiday, you might be feeling a bit peckish. For that, we've rounded up some stoner-approved specials happening today, along with some of our own suggestions for what to munch out on.
For further inspiration, there's also our list from last year.

The new location of Nom Wah in Nolita created something out of a stoner's field guide to dinner, topping a Fried Pork Chop Sandwich with...a veggie dumpling. Inside the sandwich: pork, sweetened kewpie mayo, spicy pickled daikon and cilantro. The sandwich is $8 and they'll sell you a can of PBR for $4.20. Nice.
Noted Red Sox bar Professor Thom's leans into 4/20 with stoner-approved flicks (with sound!) and smoker-friendly snacks including plain or fully-loaded tater tots. From noon until 7 p.m. they'll be offering unlimited tater tots—$10 for plain, $20 for tots loaded with bacon, scallions, sour cream and cheese for two hours—while playing movies including Fast Times at Ridgemont High, Dazed and Confused and Dude, Where's My Car?.
If your day finds you ferrying out to Staten Island, stop by legendary ice cream shop Eggers for a Belgian Waffle Sundae ($5.49 or $7.49 for two scoops), a monster sugary sundae that would make the Unicorn Frapp extinct if unicorns weren't already imaginary. You'll get a Belgian waffle topped with ice cream, fistfuls of sprinkles, ladles of rich chocolate sauce and the shop's homemade whipped cream. And a cherry, of course.
Miss Lily's in the East Village and SoHo are celebrating more than just Thursday, offering two specials beginning Monday through Friday at 4:20 p.m. and ending at 7 p.m. Grab a friend or two and tuck into the Munchies Platter ($24) with jerk corn, coconut shrimp, jerk chicken wings, cod fish fritters, and lychee BBQ glazed spare ribs and wash it down with a Watamelon Bowl ($38), a hollowed out watermelon filled with watermelon juice, soju, and lime.
Try on one of 13 different poutines at newly-opened The Gentry in Greenpoint. There's The Colonel (pictured), a KFC-type affair with chicken nuggets, gravy, grilled corn and ricotta; the Seoul with kimchi and muenster cheese; and the Woodstock, with peppers, onions, provolone and herbs; among others.
Ben & Jerry's would never miss an opportunity to chime in on 4/20—these are the minds behind Half Baked, after all—and this year they've created the CHILL-aco to attract stoners who also enjoy social media-friendly foods. They're calling it a taco wrapped in a burrito but it's just two waffle cones in taco shape filled with ice cream and drizzles and toppings and #sugar. Snag them at any of NYC's Scoop Shops.
Big comforting bowls of Chinese noodles: is there a better stoner food? Probably not. The Dan Dan Noodles at Bay Ridge's Grand Sichuan House are not for the faint of heart or tongue. But brave eaters will delight in this delicious $3.95 dish, made with sichuan peppercorns that fill your mouth with a wonderfully vicious numbing heat. Slippery, oil-covered noodles sit under a bed of ground pork, chives and the aforementioned peppercorns. If you like pork, we also love the Little Pot Mixian at newly-opened Little Tong Noodle Shop.
Yes, it's a "restaurant" funded by a brand, but Kellogg's NYC in Midtown comes through with the cereal fix—plus a million sweet additions that amp up a regular box from the supermarket. There's the Birthday Cake, made with a base of Frosted Flakes to which are added yellow cake, vanilla syrup and rainbow sprinkles. Or consider the Life in Color, with Froot Loops, lime zest, marshmallows and a passion fruit jam. You can also create your own cereal concoction, but that might be difficult...in your current state.
Spinach Cheeseboat (Nell Casey/Gothamist)
The giant crocks of melted cheese at Williamsburg's Cheeseboat are already pretty stoner-friendly, but owner Netty Davit'ashvili is unleashing a special 4/20 menu this evening that caters specifically to the smoking set. In addition to special drinks including a "Sour Diesel" cocktail with Midori, Hendricks gin, triple sec and lime, Cheeseboat will have four different adjaruli khachapuri, including the Greenlife Cheeseboat with spinach and scallion and the El Chupacabra, made with chorizo and oaxaca cheese.
